The ACCESS Property Team provides full property management services to 600 diverse operational buildings across Glasgow. The property service is split into four distinct areas that function with significant operational and strategic crossover:

• Health, Safety and Sustainability
Our team has developed a method to assess the Council’s vast ageing estate and describe each building in terms of suitability, condition and compliance. This vision of the estate enables us to take a strategic approach to all property related activity and ensures that the portfolio is managed in the most efficient and effective manner.
To support our approach, the ACCESS-developed technological systems used to manage all aspects of relevant data play a key role. The Property Information Management System and Project Management Tracker are essential tools to support our strategic property management service.
We have identified considerable potential to reform property use across the Council estate, including rationalisation, space re-use and release. These changes are delivering significant efficiencies, with scope for more. The approach concurs with the current thinking of the Scottish Government and other bodies on the management of complex estates.
Numerous opportunities are being mobilised to reduce buildings and save costs while maintaining high standards for those working in or visiting the buildings.
