Our Apprenticeship Programme provides you with a fantastic way to realise your potential and get multiple career routes off to the best possible start. Bringing learning and earning together, not only will you study towards a nationally-recognised qualification, you'll earn a salary, develop new skills and gain invaluable knowledge and experience.
During the programme, you'll join our workforce, and while you're helping them make a world of difference, you'll have the opportunity to help your career in a number of ways too.
Two of our current apprentices joined the ACCESS Apprenticeship Programme back in 2014 and were successful in obtaining a full time permanent role in 2015.
They have kindly agreed to share their experiences thus far with us. Take a look at our Apprenticeship case studies below:
When I left school I wasn't too sure what I wanted to do, although I'd always been interested in IT, especially the dynamic nature of the industry. I tried college but realised it wasn't for me quite early on. When I spotted ACCESS' Modern Apprentice Programme I applied right away.
It gave me the opportunity to gain vital hands on technical experience and the chance of a permanent job at the end. My first role involved working within the IWeb team which I loved as I was able to see first-hand how web development can support a vital project and I also gained experience with key HR systems such as SAP.
Within a year I was nominated for the MA Challenge of the year for my work!
I'm really happy to have obtained my Apprenticeship from ACCESS and I have now managed to secure a permanent role as a Junior Analyst Programmer.
The ACCESS apprentice programme was my number one priority - it was where I wanted to work, so I applied as soon as I left school in the Summer of 2014. As soon as I joined I was placed within the SAP team and after a year or so I was successful in gaining a permanent position.
I was also nominated and shortlisted for the Glasgow Guarantee Modern Apprentice Awards where I was placed within the top six apprentices from across the whole of Glasgow District Council.
The ACCESS team have made me feel very welcome and I have enjoyed learning new skills. I have also learned never to be scared to ask questions - it may lead to debates that changes the way people do things for the better.
For a chance to join the team here at ACCESS, please keep an eye out for vacancies at the Glasgow Guarantee website
